Gilbert Armstrong's Obituary
Gilbert “Richard” Armstrong was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 23, 1947. Gilbert was the son of Ruth Williams Armstrong, he was the 5th child of 15 children.
Gilbert served in the United States Army where he fought in the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged in 1968, Gilbert moved to California where he married Ollie Alford in 1970, they resided in Oakland, CA.
Gilbert was baptized Jehovah Witness, July, 2016.
Gilbert leaves behind his wife, Ollie Armstrong of 51 years, his son, Gilbert “Richard” Wise of Vallejo, CA, son, Robert Armstrong (Kimberely) of Sacramento, CA, daughter, Wynicha Armstrong, of Houston, TX, and host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Raymond Herbert Ketchens.
Richard is survived by his brothers and sisters: George Armstrong (Doris), William Armstrong (Dorothy), Esther Armstrong, Ruth Armstrong, JoAnn Ketchens, Randolph Ketchens (Jacqueline), Deborah Magee Ketchens (Robert), John Ketchens, Catherine McKesson (Franklin), Paul Ketchens (Candice), Sam Ketchens (Tonia), Irma Roberts (Glenn), Peter Ketchens Armstrong.
Also a host of cousins, nieces, nephews.
