Gidimin Klimas' Obituary
GIDIMIN JOHN KLIMASToday we morn the passing of Gidimin Klimas, a humble man of great stature. 81 years of age in Castro Valley. He passed away peacefully in the Kaiser Post Acute Center in San Leandro on Friday, October 13, 2006. Mr. Klimas was born in New Britain Connecticut on January 19, 1925 to Casimir and Anna Klimas. Mr. Klimas was a 40-year resident of San Lorenzo and most recently resided in Castro Valley for 8 years. Immediately after graduating high school he joined the Navy and served honorably in the Pacific during WWII. Upon discharge he began his 40-year aviation career, which took him to many countries throughout the world. He worked for Flying Tigers, USOA, Saturn and World Airways. He worked for Word Airways for 20 years. He also loved to fish and hunt. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Rita (1991) and daughter, Michelle (2005). He is survived by his brother, Victor of Unionville, CT and sister, Alice of Florida; his four children, John, Deborah, Michael and Richard; son-in-law, Ross and daughter-in-law, Susan; grandchildren, David, Michael and Brianna. He will be missed by many friends.Service will be held at Chapel of the Chimes (Mission Chapel), Hayward on Friday, October 27, 2006 at 2:00 p.m.
