GEORGE FRANCIS STECKLER Passed away on February 21, 2008 at Kaiser Hospital in Hayward, CA. He was 85. Lifelong resident of Alameda County. Survived by his loving wife 23 years, Evelyn L. Steckler, children, George F. Steckler, Jr. of Stockton, Richard D. Steckler of Oakland and Lynne Teale of Concord, CA, 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. George was a Graduate of Roosevelt High in Oakland and served 4 years in the US Navy. He retired as Fire Captain after 28 years of service in the Alameda Fire Department. He was an avid golfer for over 57 years, making 5 career hole-in-one’s and he also shot his age when he was 76 and 78. Member of the Sky West Mouse Race.
