George M. Silva, Sr. August 20, 1934 – April 26, 2018 Resident of Hayward, CA George was born in Oakland, CA to the late Joseph and Mary Silva. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret Silva; children: Lorraine (Marty) Martinez, George Jr. (Marlena) Silva, James Silva, Edward Silva, Theresa (Paul) Havlicek and Lynnet (Steve) Riley; loving grandpa to 15 and loving great-grandpa to 14; his sister Rosemary (Pete) Willis and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his son Michael Silva and brothers Joe Silva and Ronnie Silva. George was a lifetime resident of Alameda County. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for Sunshine Biscuits Inc. until retirement. He was very active in his church (Community Bible Chapel in Hayward). He became a Deacon while serving the Lord. He had lived his life praising and worshiping his Lord and Savior and he was ready for eternal salvation. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service in George’s honor on Friday, May 18, 2018 at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Private Family Placement will be held at a later date.
