George Roger Short Feb. 14, 1926 – June 12, 2009 Resident of Castro Valley Entered into rest on June 12, 2009 at the age of 83. Beloved husband to Helen L. Short for 62 years. Devoted father to Nancy L. Carter and Christie A. Giambruno. Loving father-in-law to Scott Giambruno. Adored grandfather to Denise Rodriguez and husband Patrick, Amy Vieytes and husband Marcelo, Alexander and Sarah Giambruno. Great-grandfather to Mitchell, Marcus and Logan. George touched many peoples lives. He was an active member of the Neighborhood Church. He was a talented artist who loved to paint, especially trains and animals. George enjoyed learning languages, reading literature, poetry and studying astrology. He will be missed greatly and forever in our hearts. Please join the family for a memorial service at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd. Hayward, CA. 94544. The service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2009. Please meet the family in the lobby at 1:45 p.m. and proceed with them to the committal service.
