GAIL MARIE TURNER's Obituary
Gail Marie Turner Resident of Pleasanton, California February 2, 1944 – June 23, 2016Gail Marie Turner passed away after being struck by a vehicle while riding her bicycle. She touched many lives with her involvement in local charitable organizations including Paws To Read, Open Heart Soup Kitchen and Habitat For Humanity.Gail was born in Vallejo and grew up in Pacifica, California where she spent most of her adult life working in the construction industry as a Project Manager responsible for the completion of over 40 major projects such as airports, municipal utilities, courthouses, fire stations, BART stations, sections of the San Francisco Exploratorium, Lawrence Berkeley Lab, schools and hospitals. She was one of the first women to pioneer this industry. She enjoyed cycling, photography, volunteering, reading, sailing, crafts and cooking.Gail is survived by her sons Dan Hopwood of Lake Tahoe, Paul Hopwood of Redondo Beach, her sister Penny Scott and her brother-in-law Dwight Scott, both of Colusa, California.Friends and family are invited to a funeral service Saturday July 9, 2016 at 1PM at Chapel Of The Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, California (510) 471-3363Flowers may be sent to Chapel of the Chimes on the morning of the service.
