After living in Oakland a few months, they settled in Castro Valley and bought a chicken ranch. There were only 400 people living in Castro Valley when they moved here, and they had the only property for miles that had a well. Neighbors used to bring their buckets to the chicken ranch in the mornings to get water. Frieda attended Hayward High School, and played the violin, and went on to Mills College in Oakland, and became a concert violinist. Frieda, met her husband Stanley in 1949, and they married in 1950, and were married for 57 years. In the early 1950’s, Frieda and her parents went out of the chicken business, and used their land to build rental property. Frieda was a homemaker, who enjoyed travel, nature, gardening, loved animals, gave unselfishly to others, and took pleasure in serving the Lord, and spending time with her family. Frieda will be forever loved, honored, and remembered by her family and friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing and meeting her. She was a strong, generous, kind hearted loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who will be dearly missed.
