Frederick Coloma Rodolfo's Obituary
Frederick or Eric as he was dearly known to his loved ones and friends passed away on April 21, 2023, in Gold Coast, Australia surrounded in love with family at his side.
Eric leaves behind a very large and loving family. He was cherished and dearly loved by his family and friends. He was a beloved, dedicated and caring son to Elvira and Anthony Rodolfo; father to his daughter Erica Tabotabo. Big brother to Erwin, Edwin and Tonette. Brother-in-law to Todd, Analie and Tina. Uncle to Samantha, Denise, Nikki, Jayson and Abby; Great uncle to Chezka; Uncle, nephew and cousin to the Rodolfo and Coloma family in California, Chicago, and the Philippines. A great friend to countless friends and neighbors. A trusted and skillful handyman to all his clients.
Eric was born in Quezon City, Philippines on May 30, 1967. He was the first-born child of retired Lt. Coronel Anthony Moyano Rodolfo and Elvira Coloma Rodolfo. Eric graduated from Quezon City High School and studied at the PATTS College of Aeronautics in the Philippines. In 1989, Eric immigrated to Tokyo, Japan and worked in construction for 16 years. In 2006, Eric immigrated to the United States and lived in Hayward, CA since then.
Eric worked briefly as a nursing assistant at Bedestha Christian Retirement Center in Hayward, CA and then at St. John Kronstadt Health Care Center in Castro Valley, CA. He briefly worked at UPS and Fedex as a package handler. But Eric’s passion is in creating and building beautiful things. He pursued his passion by becoming a handyman, landscaper, installer and builder. He made a lot of people’s homes look great including his own and his sister’s. He was always happy to help anyone who needed his assistance. He loved learning and expanding his handyman skills. He beamed with glee each time he took on new and challenging projects. He hated getting bored. He always found something to build, fix or clean. Yes, he was also a neat freak. If not working, Eric can be found playing with his toy helicopter and drone or target shooting with his BB gun in the backyard. He also loved sushi.
Eric loved animals. He loved our cats Pepper, Ashley, Sassy, Chloe, and Zeus. He especially loved our Golder Retriever puppy, Sophie.
Eric loved our family. He was the caretaker, the guardian, the protector, always worrying about everyone’s wellbeing and safety.
Eric loved the ocean. As children, Eric and his siblings grew up spending every summer at the beach while vacationing at their uncle’s home in the province. Most recently while vacationing in Australia, Eric was very happy at the beach. He couldn’t wait to go snorkeling. He passed away at a place he dearly loved and was doing what he enjoyed.
