Fred T. Santos' Obituary
In Loving Memory Of Fred T. Santos January 18, 1948 ~ May 25, 2021
At the age of 73, Fred Santos, played his 18th hole earth-side on May 25th, 2021, in Castro Valley, California, USA. A seasoned-professional, he waited for his loved ones to get on the green before making his peaceful last putt.
His love of life and golf started in Isabela, Philippines on January 18, 1948, where he was born. Fred loved being with his family, friends and his dogs, playing golf, playing mahjong, watching his Golden State Warriors and having a nice cup of coffee somewhere on his travels.
Fred dedicated 32 years of service to the United States Postal Service (USPS). He served as a team captain for the annual Philippine Airlines (PAL) golf tournament for 20 years and was a member of the Bay Area Golf Organization (BAGO) for 19 years where he served as President for 4 years.
We will miss his quiet, warm presence and his ability to command a room with the swift delivery of his signature one-liners. We will miss him stealing the spotlight while dancing with his wife. We will miss his unconditional love.
He will be remembered as the coolest “Freddy Boy”, “lolo”, “kuya”, “manong”, “pare”, “tito”, “uncle”, “pinsan”, “asawa” and “dad”.
Fred is survived by a family who loved him dearly: his wife of 49 years, Ursula Santos; his son, Jon Santos; his daughter, Joanna Nicholson and her spouse, Bradley Nicholson; his grandson, Skyler Santos; his siblings, Julius Santos, Philip Santos, Richard Santos, Barbara Bowman, Greta Castro, Evelyn Baclig, Elaine Cabildo and their families and the communities of BAGO, PAL and USPS.
We know he is watching over all of us between tee times on heaven’s golf course.
