In Loving Memory of Frank ChauFrank Chau (周顯輝), a resident of Fremont, California for almost 20 years, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2016 surrounded by his beloved family and close relatives. Frank is survived by his wife, Annie, and two daughters, Adelina and Sabrina.Frank was born in Hong Kong, the youngest of a 4-son family. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree with honors from the University of Hong Kong and the Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from the University of Michigan, all in Electrical Engineering.Frank was a pioneer and leading expert in the field of Compound Semiconductor Devices. He had a celebrated career and was an Engineering Fellow at TriQuint and Qorvo. Frank published over 50 technical papers and conference presentations, 2 book chapters, 5 invited papers, and was granted 8 US patents.Frank was an endearing and caring husband, father and son. He enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with his family. He will be missed by many.The family of Frank Chau wishes to thank Dr. Heather Wakelee and her team in Stanford Hospital. Their tremendous support and loving care of Frank in the past five years provided comfort to him. It also enabled his family to spend lots of quality time together. Fond memories will stay in the hearts of his family forever and ever.Funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 PM – 2:30 P.M. at the Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, California on Wednesday, December 28, 2016.
