Francisca Castro's Obituary
Francisca Zavala Castro Feb. 26 1935 – Oct. 30, 2009 Resident of Union City Born in Absolo Gto. Mexico, Francisca , the wife of the late Manuel C. Castro, passed away Friday, peacefully, in her home surrounded by her loving family on the eighth anniversary of the passing of her devoted son Juan Manuel. She leaves behind her daughters Maria Elena Gonzalez (Felipe), Rosalina Castro-Hetu, Griselda Lopez (Sam), and Perla Magdaleno (Angel) and sons Frank, Carlos and Fernando Castro. She is also survived by her brother Abel Zavala and two sisters Sofia Sanchez And Gloria Hansen. She will be especially missed by all her grandchildren, Felipe Jr., Sophia, Adrian, Priscilla, Yesenia (Daniel), Araceli (Victor), Maribel (Chris), Chanel (Adrian F.), Angelica, Andy, Fernando Jr., Anthony and Andrew as well as all her devoted great-grandchildren. Francisca was tremendously talented and gifted. She was always busy either reading, cooking, shopping, or watching soccer games or Novelas, listening to music sewing and crocheting. Her life was filled with the people and pastimes she loved, and she was also known to have a passion for an occasional Casino! When we remember Francisca, we will remember her as a loving matriarch who embraced her family and shared with them her great strength tempered with her wonderful sense of humor. We will keep our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother as a treasured memory in our hearts forever, and when the memory touches us, we will whisper a silent “Thank You”. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday November 9, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Mission Chapel of Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA 94544. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday November 10, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 703 C Street at Sixth, Union City CA 94587.
