Frances Nappo's Obituary
Frances Angelina Nappo, 97, passed peacefully on April 2, 2018. Preceded in death by her husband Joseph Angelo Nappo, son Paul Joseph Nappo, father Nicole Ferri, mother Mary Florence Ferri, sisters Tresa Eufemia Martin and Rose Marie Rasario Fraley. Frances was a life time resident of Oakland, California. She was the oldest of three girls. After graduating high school she held a few jobs before finally taking a long time position at the Naval Air Station. She married Joseph in 1946 and had four children Thomas Gene (Faye), Paul Joseph (deceased) (Debra), Marilyn Frances and Marlene Christy (Ted). She leaves behind nine grand-children Lorenzo Henderson; Carl, Barry and Neal Reite; Stephanie (Hayden, Addison great grand-children), Nicholas, Sofia, Marcus and Arianna Nappo. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. She made sure her children knew how to swim because she couldn’t when she was young. She was always taking care of someone whether it was her husband, children, parents, auntie or the neighbors. She taught her own kids as well as some of the neighbor children how to embroider, knit, crochet and sew. She even tried skateboarding with the one of her neighbors. Frances volunteered at her children’s schools as well as the senior center and held a leadership position with the garden club. Mass will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic church, 32223 Cabello Street, Union City at 10 o’clock. Memorial service at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward at 11:30, on April 23, 2018.
