Frances M. Dias' Obituary
On February 16, 2016, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Frances Dolores Dias, passed away peacefully at her home in Hayward following her battle with kidney failure. She was 90 years old. Frances was born in Paia, Maui, Hawaii on December 1, 1925 to George (Martines) Martins and Antonia Cordero Dutra. She was the fourth of seven children. Frances grew up in the quaint country town of Paia and continued to reside there after she was married. Frances moved to the mainland in 1955. Upon her arrival to California, Frances lived in Oakland and San Francisco before moving to Hayward, where she resided for nearly 50 years. Frances enjoyed working in the health industry as she dedicated her life to public service. She worked at Paia Hospital and Puunene Hospital while living in Maui and St. Luke’s Hospital in San Francisco, retiring after 40 years of service. Frances had two children that she loved and adored, James and Linda. Family was very important to Frances as she cherished the quality time she spent with all of her family members. Frances was a loving, caring person who was also very strong-willed. She was a woman of faith and served the Lord from an early age. Frances is predeceased in death by her parents, siblings: Richard Martines, Dorothy Shoemaker, Katherine Negrones and Benjamin Martins; son, James Flores and granddaughter, Paulette Flores. Frances is survived by her sisters, Flora LaBoy of Honokaa, Hawaii and Shirley Molina of Hayward, her loving daughter, Linda Santiago (husband, Robert Robello) of Hayward, grandchildren: James Flores, Charlotte Marin (husband, Michael Marin) and Jessica Jinkens; great-grandchildren: Elena Medina, James Flores, Ryan Flores, Elizabeth Flores, Jacob Flores and Alexandra Perez-Rojas; great-great grandchildren: Isaiah Clark, Angelo Miske and Ava Miske; several nieces, nephews, cousins and her sweet dog, Nani. The life tribute service will be held at the Mission Chapel, Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, California on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 1:30 p.m.
