Flossie Dane Ellis' Obituary
Flossie D. Ellis, 72 entered into rest on Tuesday, January 1, 2002 at Kaiser Hospital in Hayward, California. She was born on January 19, 1929 in Gilmer, Texas to James Grady J. and Ludy Parkerson. She has been a resident of Union City for 6 years prior of San Leandro for 4 years, Livermore, Tracy, Concord and Pleasanton. She was lovingly known as "Grandma" to PJFL Players for over 10 years where she helped run the snack bar. She loved to read and really enjoyed being with her grandchildren. Flossie was a Seamstress for 25 years for MVP Sports a sport uniform manufacturer. She made many uniforms and clothing for several teams and people. Flossie will be missed by all who knew her especially her family which gave her much enjoyment in life. Flossie was preceded in death by her son, Doyle Joiner. Flossie was the devoted mother of her 3 loving daughters and 2 loving sons, Doris Peacock of Pleasanton, Helen Simons and Carla Joiner both of Union City, Billy Joiner of Austin, and Buel Joiner of Arlington, Texas. She also has a very dear sister, Roxie Black of Arlington, Texas and two dear brothers, Melvin and Raymond Parkerson both of Gladewater, Texas. Flossie is survived by her wonderful 16 grandchildren, Ernie Heflin, Leigh Peacock, Kevin Peacock, Phillip Peacock, Richard Simons, Christopher Simons, Jason Joiner, Dominic Rodriguez, Jesse Joiner, Billy Miller, Crissy Miller, Kayse Joiner, Steven Joiner, Lisa Joiner, Kathy Knuppe and Merrylea Joiner. She also has 18 beautiful great-grandchildren.Family and Friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Sunday, January 6, 2002 from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home.
