Florida Silva Jose's Obituary
Fremont, CA - Florida S. Jose, 86, passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2020, with
her loving family by her side.
Florida was born August 18, 1934, in Manila, Philippines, the daughter of Rufino and Ramona
(Pena) Silva and brothers Cesar and Dante. Florida grew up in San Roque, Cavite City,
Philippines, and received her nursing degree in Manila, Philippines, and began her nursing
career in August 1957 and retired in November 1999 (42yrs). She married Emiliano T. Jose Jr.
(Joe) on April 24, 1960, at Ellinwood-Malate Church Manila, Philippines. Florida was
naturalized as an American citizen on June 4, 1974. The family, along with many friends, has
lost an amazing human being. Florida enjoyed baking, cooking, and gardening. Florida’s love
language was “Acts of Service”. She cooked, baked, cared, and loved unselfishly all her family
and friends. She was her husband’s primary caregiver through all of his health challenges and
never left his side anytime he was in a hospital or nursing home. She was a devout Christian,
always giving generously of her time and blessings to her church, United Filipino-American
Church of Christ.
Those who will miss Florida most include her husband Joe, son- Emmanuel (Noel) Jose and his
wife Rhonda and children Michaela and Connor, son- Florante (Joey) Jose and his wife Susan
and children Kellen, Jared, and Caitlin, daughter- Emily Tatad, and her husband Chris and
children Caleb, brother- Dante Silva, and a host of close friends (comadres and compadres),
and other family members include in-laws, godsons, goddaughters, and many nephews and
nieces.
Florida is now in peace and reunited in Heaven with her parents and older brother and past
family and friends.
