Flora R. Bayle's Obituary
Flora Rivera Bayle, age 86, lovingly known by most as Flor, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at John Muir Medical Center in Concord, CA. Visitation will be at The Chapel of the Chimes on July 6 and 7 at 5:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral mass viewing will be at St. Anne’s church Union City from 9:30 to 10:00 am and a funeral mass will follow at 10:00am.Flor was born July 14, 1930 in Manila, Philippines to Jose Santos Rivera and Rufina Untalan Rivera. She graduated from the Philippine Normal College with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She then proceeded to practice her profession for 32 years at the University of the East Secondary Training Department – High School in Manila, first as an English Teacher then as a Professor at the College of Education until her retirement. She is survived by her 3 sons, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren:· Joseph with wife Josie and grandchildren Jo-an and Jonathan.· Anthony and wife Lilian and grandchildren Therese, Luis with wife Jen and Carlo; great grandchildren CJ and Jazmine· Peter with wife Lyvette, grandchildren Kattarina and Paolo.Flor lived a very simple yet fulfilled life. Her guilty pleasure includes spending hours watching her favorite telenovela. She enjoys reaching out to family and friends, always with a ready ear to listen and offering a helping hand when needed. She is very prayerful; her faith and values she passed on to her children and even to her grandchildren. She has a unique ability to reach out and touch people in a very deep and positive way. Her profession as an educator has given her the opportunity to help quite a few get into college and this is her most lasting legacy: helping her students build a foundation for their future. Family, friends and others whose lives Flor touched, is invited to her final resting place at the Chapel of the Chimes Hayward CA at 11 am to reminisce, grieve her passing and support each other in this time of sorrow.
