Shes better known as Owa by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and our friends. My earliest memories that i have as a child are all of Owa. She took care of me and my sister. She always made sure we had something to eat, she would comb my hair, dress me up, make up activities to play with me and at night I would call out for her. Owa would wake up and sleep right next to me to protect me from the monsters that I thought were under my bed. Owa had the biggest smile and was always so happy. She would tell me stories about her life in the Philippines and draw out scenery pictures of the places she lived in. She was also my favorite cook. Maybe because she liked salt as much as I do. But Owa was one tough little lady who was so independent from taking bus everywhere, to fighting off muggers and getting rid of snakes in the yard while she gardened. She had an appreciation for nature. She loved flowers and animals, especially her lovebirds that she kept at home. Owa was so loving and caring. Everything that she did was to provide for us. Even during her last days at the hospital she would offer her food to me to make sure I ate. And the times I would sleep on the chair, Owa would tell me that there's room on her hospital bed so that I could lay down and sleep next to her. I love you Owa. I will always remember all the unconditional love you gave while you raised me. Thank you for everything you have done for us. You will truly be missed but never forgotten
