Felipa Devera's Obituary
Mrs. Felipa Naparota Devera Felipa was born on May 1, 1936, in Antequera, Bohol, Philippines. She was the third born of nine children to Nicolas and Catalina Naparota. Felipa married Leonardo in May of 1958 and they had 6 children – Merilyn, Rose, Grace, Luisa, Theresa, and Lorna Mae. She was an entrepreneur with a great business sense and had her own sari-sari store in Davao City. She immigrated with her family to the US in 1971 and settled in Hayward, California. Felipa worked in Silicon Valley for 25 years; she worked as a technician at National Semiconductor. She retired at the age of 57 in 1993. Felipa enjoyed going to church, loved cooking (made the best adobo, lumpia, and pancit!), travelling, shopping, hosting parties, sewing, spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends, and helping others through the United Way. Felipa is survived by her husband Leonardo; their six daughters; her son-in-laws Charles, Bob, Terry, and Robert; her grandchildren Brian, Bradley, Xylon, Justin, Joshua, Terilyn, and Melina; and great-grandchild Brayden. Mrs. Devera, also known as Nanay Felipa, will be missed, loved and remembered forever.
