Sept 11, 1919 – Nov 3, 2008 Felicitas “Mama Feliz” S. Hernandez entered peacefully into rest on November 3, 2008. She was 89 years old. Dearly beloved wife of 60 years to Max B. Hernandez. She was his “Mexicana.” Preceeded in death by her son Rudy Sanchez Hernandez. Loving mother of Catalina Bisi, Stella Ramirez, Jorge Hernandez, Aggie Luttrell, Max Hernandez, Robert Hernandez, Rosana Loera, Leo Hernandez, Yvonne Guzman, and Carlos Hernandez. “Mama Feliz” to 30 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. Felicitas was a generous being with a big heart and wonderful sense of humor. She was an animal lover, enjoyed cooking, she loved flowers and being surrounded by all her children. She was a resident on Union City for 44 years and the proprietor of Decoto Liquors, a mom and pop store in the 1980’s, she was so lovingly called “Mama” by her patrons and loved by all who met and knew her. The matriarchal figure is now at rest. She will never be forgotten; her enormous strength, beautiful traits, and treasured teachings live on through her descendants. Friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation today Wednesday, November 5th at CHAPEL OF THE CHIMES 32992 Mission Blvd in our Mission Chapel, beginning at 4:30 – 8:30PM and a Celebration of Her Life on Thursday November 6th beginning at 1:30PM with burial to follow.
