Felicitas “Mommy Fely” Lapiad Gelera, a devoted wife, loving mother, caring grandmother, and faithful servant of God, peacefully passed away on August 17, 2025, at the age of 79. She leaves behind a legacy of humility, simplicity, hard work, and selfless love.
Born on January 31, 1946, in Bacoor, Cavite, Philippines, to the late Jesus and Julia Lapiad, Fely grew up in a humble home where she learned the values of faith, service, and perseverance. She was the sister of the late Julia, Fredesminda, Virginia, Erlinda, and Florentino, and is survived by her brother Ismael.
From her youth, she joyfully helped with household chores and embraced the deep Christian faith instilled by her parents, carrying it with her throughout her life. Fely was known as a sweet daughter, cheerful sister, thoughtful aunt, loving mother, and devoted wife. She nurtured her family both physically and spiritually, delighting in cooking for them while guiding them with wisdom, faith, and love. She was deeply committed to her family — her husband Naldo, daughters Hydee, Hyrene, Hyna, and Hycie, her son-in-law Ronald, and her beloved grandchildren Ivan and Thea Felise — and kept close, caring bonds with her nieces and nephews.
Hardworking and tireless, Mommy Fely devoted herself to her household and family. After migrating to the United States in 1997, she worked in production at Maxim before embracing the role of full-time caregiver — where her kindness, patience, and compassion endeared her to all she served. She welcomed every opportunity to provide for her loved ones, demonstrating unwavering dedication and generosity.
Fely’s life was a testament to faith, perseverance, and love. She gave fully of herself in every role, touching the hearts of all who knew her. Truly, she has “fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith,” leaving a legacy of strength, humility, and boundless love that will continue to inspire her family and friends for generations to come.
