Federico dela Paz Cruz's Obituary
In Loving Memory
Federico “Ric” dela Paz Cruz
07/08/1958 – 07/24/2022
Federico was unexpectedly granted his angel wings on Sunday evening, 24th of July, at Washington Hospital in Fremont, at the age of 64.
He was born on July 08, 1958, in Taytay Rizal, Philippines to Teodulo and Aquilina Cruz.
Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Ric, managed his illness with strength and grace. On his final day, he was surrounded by his family and close friends. His wife Lucinda; daughters – Menchie, Menchu, Candy & Pop; grandchildren – Vince, Julian, Mitchell & Athina, are those he adored more than anything in the world.
Ric’s life would seem too short to many, but those who knew him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His friendliness and easy-going personality brought joy to many will be dearly missed.
His loved for cockfighting is no secret to anybody... it runs in his blood so to speak! Together with other cockfighting enthusiasts they formed a brotherhood called Sanlahi. He was an active member and engaged with various charities in Taytay, Rizal.
Watching football and basketball was something he enjoyed. He is an avid 49er and Warrior’s fan. Also, weekend was always a treat for him… he loves dining out with his wife & daughters graciously appreciating a sumptuous meal. He devoted much of his time and energy taking care of his wife, Lucinda. He was a loving husband, a good father to his daughters, and one of the most chill grandpas.
Although gone too soon, Ric, gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life.
In addition to his wife, daughters and grandchildren, he is survived by his mother, Aquilina Cruz; sister and spouse, Amy & Jun Cruz; several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Teodulo Cruz, brothers, Boyet and Danilo Cruz.
His funeral service will be held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church on August 15, 2022, Monday, at 10 am. Cremation ceremony will be held immediately following the funeral service at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward.
