Hi Mom & Dad. This is my first time seeing this comment section and I’m so happy I found it. A lot has happened over the years. Lydia, Popo, Tai, Eki and I have moved to Washington. Yes, I finally made it back home. Bunka, Buddah, Nani & Darcel are living in Central California and Stone is near the Bay Area. We are a family of 17 now! You have 6 beautiful grandchildren that carry your famous side eye and fearless spirit. They are so full of life. Watching them grow reminds me of how you raised us and the important lessons that you both instilled in us. Life has not been the same without you and it gets challenging at times but we always lean on god and each other. God has really blessed our lives and we’re all thriving and growing. Nani is in school and graduating this summer. He now has a daughter who is named after you. I see you in her. Lydia is at the peak of her career and now has a son named after you. She’s an amazing mom, leader and does powerful work in the community. She takes after mom. Bunka and Austin are now married and have 2 beautiful daughters named Irie and Sevyn. Popo graduated a few years ago and is an aviation mechanic for Delta. Tai is working and taking care of our family. Stone now has a son and is a great father and provider. I started a business a few years ago. I am working and recently decided to go back to school. Buddah is graduating in 6 months from high school. I love and miss you. I wish you both were here physically to see your blessings in fruition. I know you are here in spirit. Continue to watch over us until that glorious morning.

Dear Mom and Dad, oh how much we miss you both. This past thanksgiving was the first without daddy and the first without both of you. I am nearing the end of my 4th quarter. If only I could see you both again. Your grandson is running around now and full of life. Buddah is a big boy and very bright. We are all doing well. I can’t wait until that glorious morning. I know my siblings miss you dearly on this special day of recognition for the great upbringing you have provided them and for everything you have done for them on this earth and continue to do as their guardian angel. Dear Aunty, It’s your namesake ! I haven’t met you but I wish I did yet I miss you ! I’ve heard a lot about you and am honoured to be named after you ! I hope to live up to half the person you were and are remembered to be ! Aunty, I always wonder what it would of been like to meet you, to get to know who you were and to share the love for food. I’ve heard countless stories about you and they’ve been heart warming and funny. I’ve always wished to meet you. I still remember when Dad told me about you wanting to meet me and how happy you were to find out he named one of his own after you! Often I think about the missed opportunity to meet you but the more dad and your beautiful daughter Lydia speak of you, the more I see you living in not only Lydia but my other siblings too! I haven’t officially met my other siblings but I hope to and will in the near future if Lord willing. Currently I’m about to undertake prac after doing my exams and I’m doing well ! Dear Mom and Dad, I am almost done with my first year of graduate school. Things have been difficult but with God everything is possible. Thank you for teaching me, that love is patient, love is kind, and love harbors no ill feeling. We are all doing well. I wish you guys were here to see how grown James and baby Jonah are. Hi Mom and Dad, Jonah turned one last week. Over the weekend, we had his dedication and birthday party. Jonah is so handsome and full of life; he’s talking and walking. You guys should see James he’s such a big boy and smart. Oh, how I missed you this weekend and cried during the service. I thought about how proud and you guys would’ve been to witness your first and only grandson’s dedication. Everyone is doing well. We miss and love you both so much. Hi, mom! Dad passed on December 13, 2015, from heart failure. He couldn’t live without you. We miss you both very much. There aren’t enough words to suffice how much we all wish you were both here. Bunka, Tai and Jacob moved to southern California. Nani, Darcel, James are Jonah still in central California. I’m in my second quarter of graduate school, and everything is coming together. Thank you for raising me and my siblings to be there for one another. I love you, mom and dad.

Hi mom! It’s Darcel. I can’t believe I have stumbled upon this page! There is so much I want to say, but mostly that I miss you and I wish we had more time. I think of you often. I see how much you love your kids and what an amazing mom you are, and I pray I can be even half as amazing as you! That Jonah will love me as much as Schoen loves you. James is doing well mom. Your baby, he misses you. He is smart, he reads well and is a super speller. You would be proud! Your grandson Jonah is doing so well and we tell him about you and sing songs that you love to him. I know God must have let you see him that night in your dream. I know so much more now about family and life than I did before and I have learned so much by hearing wonderful stories of how you n dad lived life. Talofa Mom, Well it’s week 6 of Fall quarter, the first quarter of graduate school. I’m already looking into J.D./PHD programs. I think about you often and sometimes find myself at a standstill, wishing that you’d come back to us. I’m learning to trust in God to get through the hard times. We went to Disneyland two weeks ago, and you should’ve seen your grandsons face. He was smiling and laughing. Dad was so happy that we all went to Disney together!
