Evette Valentine's Obituary
Evette was a Bay Area native, born in Oakland to Juanita and Bill Sauer, who preceded her in death along with her younger brother, Mark. Evette spent her childhood in San Leandro, graduating from San Leandro High School before attending Cal State Hayward, where she majored in business and accounting. Evette met Mark Valentine at AirCal, marrying on Valentine’s Day in 1988. Her pride and joy was their son, Trevor. Evette enjoyed traveling to many countries with Mark and eventually Trevor, spending numerous family vacations at Napili Beach in Maui where they enjoyed snorkeling. Playing the violin was a life long passion for Evette, allowing her to play in the local Ohlone College Orchestra for many years. Evette nurtured a strong and unwavering Christian faith throughout her life and was an active member of the Bridges Community Church in Fremont and was engaged in multiple Bible study groups. Evette was known by her family and friends for her optimistic personality, resilience, and ability to laugh easily. Evette is survived by her husband Mark, son Trevor, and her extended family of sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
