Evelyn E. Botelho's Obituary
Resident of Dublin, CA
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and great grandmother on the morning of Sat. Oct 15, 2022. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Leach, son-in-law Doug Leach, grandsons Marc and Andrew Leach, granddaughters-in-law Mirela and Nicole, great granddaughters Ella and Arielle, great grandson Holden, and by her husband’s many nieces and nephews. She is preceded by her beloved husband Larry, who passed away almost 5 years ago this November.
Evelyn was an only child of Oscar and Clara Mae Phillips. She was born in Tennessee, and they later moved to California in the late 40's. She attended Hayward HS and graduated in 1951. She met and married her husband Larry in 1955, and they started their life together. She worked for many years as a secretary. She devoted her life to her family and her beloved Maltese dog Buttons, loved to bake and design cakes for all occasions, and had a real passion for Caramel Frappés at McDonald's and Butterfinger candy. Mom was well cared for after she was diagnosed with dementia and heart issues by her loving family as well as her caregiver, Linda. She lived in Dublin, CA for the last 26 years.
A celebration of life is planned for Mon. Oct 24, 2022 from 12 to 1:30pm at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd. in Hayward, CA.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to either The American Heart Assoc. at www.heart.org or Alzheimer’s Foundation of America at www.alzfdn.org
