Eva Mae Abbett's Obituary
Eva Mae Abbett , at age 106, passed away at the Masonic Home in Union City where her wit, smile and singing were always an inspiration.Eva Mae was born June 10, 1913 in Tuttle Oklahoma to Hugh and Cora Adams, graduated from Gilcrest High School and attended Greeley State Teaching College in Colorado. She and her husband Roy owned Select Grocery Market in San Leandro until his tragic murder in 1963 as a result of an attempted robbery.She was a resident of Castro Valley for 60 years. She retired from Association Films in Dublin and then discovered dancing at the area Senior Centers for the next fifteen years. She was predeceased by brothers Ray and George Adams, sister Erma Sylvia, son Edward and great-grandson Kevin Bull. She is survived by daughters Dannetta Bull (Robert) and Georganne Seavey (Dick), six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and four great-great grandsons.Eva Mae’s gracious and tender spirit will be deeply missed as she dances into eternity.In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.Memorial service to be held at the Masonic Home’s Chapel, October 20 2019 at 2:00 PM.
