Eugene Charles Sharp's Obituary
Eugene Charles Sharp Aug. 5, 1932 – Dec. 25, 2011 Resident of San Leandro Eugene Sharp passed away on Christmas day at the age of 79. He was born in Oakland, Ca on Aug. 5, 1932 to Ralph and Elizabeth Sharp. He grew up in Oakland, graduated from Oakland High and earned his MBA from Armstrong College in Berkeley. After serving his country in the Navy during the Korean Conflict, Eugene worked as a machinist and General Manager during his 45 year career. He enjoyed his family, camping, hiking and woodworking. He was Scoutmaster of Troop 608 in San Leandro for several years. He had a great love for their dog Cuddles who was his constant companion. Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Charlotte and devoted children, Stanley (Isabel) of Manteca; Norm (Dee) of Mountain House; Keith of Pleasanton; Karen Knopfer of Livermore and Lynette Johnston (Rich) of San Leandro. Five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren whom he all adored. He is also survived by his brother Richard (Carol) of Brentwood, sister-in-law Ester Bugna of Menlo Park and two nephews and a niece. Eugene was preceded in death by his daughter Cynthia; parents Ralph and Elizabeth Sharp: in laws George and Helen Sorensen and brother-in-law Ted Sorensen. His generous loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service celebrating his life on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes located at 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of choice .
