Matthew Will
Gene was a longtime member for the Association of Lunar and Planetary Observers going back to the 1960s having contributed lunar and planetary observations to various observing sections and programs. I knew Gene from email correspondence and meeting him in-person several times at ALPO conventions or conferences as we call them now. He was always of a good spirit and could recall a funny story or two at these meetings. Gene was greatly respected for his professional knowledge of optics and his involvement in amateur astronomy. Gene will be missed.
