Ethel Rae Reeves born on January 25, 1926 in Manhattan, Kansas to parents, Randal and Josephine Fenton, who preceded her in death. She entered into rest, Thursday, September 5, 2002 at the age of 76 years old in her Hayward, California home.Ethel met her husband, Henry Reeves, at the Cascade Room in the Oakland Lake Merritt Hotel in October of 1945 and married three months later on January 5, 1946. They had celebrated their 56th anniversary this year.Ethel was very active throughout the years with many hobbies and activities including; rock hunting, gardening and crafts. She also enjoyed participating in several clubs that included the East Bay Mineralogists, Eden Garden Club and her favorite... ... ... ... .. The Oakland A's Booster Club! She and her husband have been season ticket holders for the Oakland A's team for many years. Ethel enjoyed rooting for the team and making many friends throughout the stadium since 1968.Ethel is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Henry Reeves of Hayward, California; daughters, Jacqueline Blevins of Manteca, California and Susan Smith of Livermore, California; sister, Pauline Swenson of Burlington, North Carolina; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. If there were one phrase that best described the person Ethel was it would be 'She never met a stranger'.Family and Friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Thursday, September 12, 2002 from 5:30 ' 8:30 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home.
