Esther Lim's Obituary
Esther Lim (Chow Han Yen) was born in China on November 13, 1933. She immigrated to the U.S. with her family in 1967.Esther was a hard-working loving mother, compassionate nurse, and a graceful family leader. She was also the head-chef of her own restaurant for over 20 years. Esther created a large library of recipes from around the world. She loved food and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She always made sure that everyone was well-nourished. Esther was a scientist in her kitchen, experimenting various delicacies and an artist adorning the plates as her canvas. She loved food channels and was inspired by seeing her loved ones relish her cuisine. Esther would tell you, “eat this and it will keep you beautiful.”Esther was a selfless person; she went out of her way to help those in need. Her love and kindness touched many.On March 3, 2018, Esther passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and friends. She is survived by her devoted husband, Paul Lim; her son, Arnold Lim (wife Marta); daughter, Gayle Tang (husband Stephen), son, Michael Lim; 7 loving grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.Celebration of Esther’s life is scheduled on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home.
