Ervin Frederick Weinert's Obituary
Ervin Frederick Weinert passed-away on October 8, 2013, at Sonora Regional Medical Center. He touched many lives with his sense of humor and gentle, friendly nature.Ervin, a WWII Veteran, served in the United States Army, as a cryptographer. He met his wife Edna at a USO dance, and the couple was married 6 weeks later. Edna passed-away in 2004, just months before the couple’s 60th wedding anniversary.Following 4 years in the Army, Ervin enjoyed a 37-year career with National Cash Register Company. After retirement, Ervin and Edna spent many years traveling, playing golf and enjoying family and friends. Ervin, a resident of Fremont for 34 years, moved to Sonora in 2007.Ervin is survived by his children, Susan and Jerry Turnshek of Sonora, and Douglas Weinert of Fremont; granddaughter, Kimberly Vogt and her family, of Sacramento.Visitation was held on Saturday, October 19th, 2013, at Chapel of the Chimes Reflection Chapel, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, California, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a graveside service at 11:00 am. A “Celebration of Life” was held at the mortuary, following the graveside service.
