Erlinda A. Edejer's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Erlinda A. Edejer. On Wednesday 2nd of February, 2022, Linda, as she was known to all, quietly slipped away from her earthly bonds and gently entered into eternal rest. She will be forever loved and missed by her devoted family and many friends.
Linda was born on May 17, 1928 in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. In 1949, she received her teaching degree from Rosary College in the Philippines. Although she was a schoolteacher in the Philippines, upon emigrating to the U.S., she worked for 29 years as a postal worker, mostly at the Rincon Annex in San Francisco, until her retirement in 1991.
On January 30, 1957, she married the love of her life, Napoleon “Nap” Valverde Edejer. While Nap had emigrated first to Guam, in 1958 Linda joined him in San Francisco, where they established their home and raised a daughter, Erna, and a son, Reuben.
Linda loved life. Blessed with a radiant smile and a cheerful disposition, she enjoyed travel, making several trips or cruises to the Caribbean, Europe, and the Holy Land. Her home contains many souvenirs and photographs from those travels. She enjoyed interior decoration, but of all her hobbies, her greatest passion lay in her cultivation of living things. Blessed with the proverbial “green thumb,” Linda’s collection of orchids and succulents always seemed to be in full bloom.
Family was an integral and important part of her life. She enjoyed hosting family events while also regularly attended as many as she could. Of course, where there was family, there was always food. While she always made sure everyone had more than enough to eat, Linda’s family knew that her personal favorite was crab pasta with Alfredo sauce. Finally, befitting her sweet disposition, she had quite the sweet tooth. Regardless of how she was feeling, her eyes lit up any time someone placed an ice cream cake in front of her!
A devout Catholic, she was devoted to God her entire life and remained active in the St. Joachim Santo Niño group for many years. Erlinda is survived by her husband, Napoleon, her two children, Erna and Reuben, and her three grandchildren, Jasmine, Jade, and Cierra.
