April 5, 1944 – September 8, 2016Emilie Marie Valentine, age 72 born in San Francisco, California April 5, 1944. To her late parents Hilaria and Jesus LopezPreceded in death by her loving daughter Laura Valentine, brothers Joaquin Barajas and Ray LopezSurvived by her loving children John and Steven Valentine, daughter-in-law Renee and granddaughter Amelia Valentine of San Francisco.Resided in Hayward, CA with her devoted Domestic Partner, Jerry Herrera. Her loving extended family JR and Joshua, daughter-in-law Jennifer, grandsons Jeremiah and Jericho HerreraShe leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her Sisters and Brothers: Delfina Burke, Helen Sahagum, Rose Bastidas, Dolores Aguilera, Margarita Lopez, Carlos Lopez and Paul Lopez. Many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. Emilie’s best friend since Kindergarten Carole Chavez.Employed at Law Office of Weinberg Roger & Rosenfeld in Alameda, CA. Started June 22, 1987 and retired as Clerk Typist March 1, 2010 Union member of OPEIU Local 3 Where many of her co-workers fondly remembed her as a kind, humble, shy, quiet and model workerShe was a very loyal, loving and caring daughter, mother, sister and friend. Very meticulous, gentle, warm with a heart of gold, always laughing and wearing a beautiful smile. She loved to go to craft shows with her friend Danny Letterman where she would buy many unique gifts (a very giving generous sweetheart). She collected many unique items, her favorite items are the figurines roosters, whales, and old pictures of the S.F. Bay Bridge and Golden Gate Bridge.She loved the tranquility of the ocean and looking at the breathtaking sunsetsEmilie & Jerry loved to travel to historical places such as France, Spain and the East Coast visiting places such as Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, Biltmore Estate in N. Carolina and the New England States. She loved going on cruises, She enjoyed watching home improvement shows looking for the next project for Jerry.
