EMERITA PALO SALAMERA1934 – 2018Emerita Palo Salamera, a long-time resident of Newark, California passed awayon November 13, 2018 at Washington Hospital, Fremont, California.Emerita was born in the Philippines on March 3, 1934. She was united in marriage to Florido Salamera, a World War II Veteran and a Policeman on April 3, 1951. They migrated to California on February 9, 1985. Florido preceded her in death on September 9, 2007.She was a homemaker who loves to cook, eat and shop. She devoted her whole life in caring for her husband, 8 children and some grandchildren. She was a strict disciplinarian but generous. She likes everything to be neat and clean. Grateful for having shared Emerita’s life is her brother Primo Palo of the Philippines, 8 children: Flochee (Romy+) Delacruz of Mountain House, CA, Rolando Salamera of Las Vegas, NV, Helen (Pio) Cabanban of Newark, CA, Linda (Steve) Darby of Newark, CA, Dinia (Sal) Aguilar of Killeen, Texas, Irene (Ben) Basa of Milpitas, CA, Joselito (Gladys) Salamera of Westminster, CO and Fernando (Jing) Salamera of US Naval Base Sasebo, Japan; her 11 grandchildren: Joseph, Carmina, Romeo Jr (Trina), Nikki Jill (Ariel) Moreno, Abraham Monti, Thaddeus John, Jiggers, Dorothy Faith, Abigail Joyce, JasmineGrace and Emeriz Lohla; great grandchildren: Jaemil Camryn, Joseph Zachary, Julius Joseph, Jericho Alexander, Lilyana Joy, Charles Bryan, Irish Nicole, and Athena Yzovelle. She was preceded in death by her husband Florido Salamera, parents Ponciano and Pelagia Palo, sisters Florentina and Lydia, brothers Vicente and Salvador and son-in-law Romeo Delacruz. Family and friends are invited to the CHAPEL OF THE CHIMES MEMORIAL PARK AND FUNERAL HOME, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA 94544 for the Visitations on November 24, 2018 from 4:00 to 9:00 PM, and November 25, 2018 from 4:00 to 9:00 PM (memorial service 6PM).Private cremation services will be on Monday November 26, 2018 at 10 AM.510-471-3363
