Emaleen Abordo's Obituary
On July 31, 1968 in a coastal town in the northwest part of Metro Manila Philippines, Emaleen Abordo(EMY) was born to Parents Terry and Edgardo Abordo. As a child, Emy grew up in Navotas, Philippines and graduated from St. James Academy High School. She was raised with her two sisters Elaine (BIM), and Loi. Emy was always a family favorite. She was the oldest of three. She could light up the room when she walked in. She was tough as nails with a gentle soul.
Emy proudly gave birth to her two wonderful children, Megan and Jiboy Evangelista. They meant so much to her. They were the love of her life.
In the mid 1990’s, Emy relocated to the United States where she made the Bay Area, Ca her home.
Emy fell in love with the medical field and obtained her Dietary Manager certification from Merritt College. She often talked about how much she loved her co-workers, and helping people.
Emy came to the U.S. with very little, but due to her hard work and perseverance, Emy was able to vet achieve many of her goals and dreams. For example, EMY worked smart and hard to be able to buy several houses. She always drove nice cars, and had good taste of jewelry and fashion. Emy would often rent a big house with a swimming pool during the summer, to allow close relatives, friends and their children to come swim and play, eat and drink. She truly enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. She had a great sense of humor. She loved telling jokes to her family and friends, and could make everyone laugh.
Emy worked as an Administrator, Dietary Manager for different health care facilities in the Bay Area, CA. She loved her work and co-workers.
Emy even at one time was the owner of a bakery in Newark.
Emy enjoyed party's and family get togethers. She enjoyed music and would often sing to her favorite songs, both in English and Tagalog. Emy was a strong and brave woman who stood up and supported other people going through a crisis. She helped others by offering them jobs, or just by being present.
Emy loved spending time with her children Megan and Jiboy, her partner Jonathan, her mom Terry and her sisters Loi and Bim.
On May 8th, 2023, our beautiful EMY suddenly passed away after a brief illness at Kaiser Hospital with her loving children and family at her side.
This has been a very traumatic and painful period for her family and her friends, in the U.S. and in the Philippines.
EMY will be sorely missed, but she will never be forgotten.
She will always be in our hearts, and I know that the love and memories of EMY will bring comfort.
Please hold her children Megan and Jiboy in your hearts and prayers and support them during this difficult period.
Emy is survived by her loving children, Megan and Jiboy, Mother Terry, sisters Elaine and Loi, her Partner Jonathan, nephews Eggie and Justin and cousins and many other relatives and friends in the U.S. and in the Philippines and overseas.
