Elvira Zambrano's Obituary
Elvira Zambrano passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 27, 2017 in Fremont, CA. She was 90 years old. Elvira was born on October 6, 1926 in Pasadena, Texas to her parents, Antonio Rodriguez and Aurelia Treviño. She went to live with her Grandparents in Mexico where they had a farm and she met the love of her life Adolfo. They married in 1940 and lived a wonderful life. They moved to Decoto in 1966, where they had and raised their family of 6. Adolfo and Elvira loved to host barbeques for neighborhood families, swim in Niles Canyon, and going out to eat. One of their favorite restaurants was Ted’s, in San Francisco.Elvira loved to cook. She worked at Little Bob’s restaurant in Texas for 12 years, making Mexican dishes. She also worked at the Masonic home in Union City for 20 years as a nurse aid. She went to beauty school where she received her cosmetology license and worked at a beauty shop for about 10 years. She loved her family and visiting with them. She loved the Lord and attending her church Templo Betania where she enjoyed helping the ladies on special occasions and attending women’s ministry functions. She was very giving and made fast friends with neighbors and coworkers, whom she became very close with and always had her door open to. Elvira enjoyed working in her garden and also loved to watch Christian programs on TV at home. Elvira is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Edward of Union City, CA; her son and daughter-in-law, Adolfo and Irma Zambrano, Union City, CA; her daughter, Norma Otero of Aransas Pass, TX; her daughter-in-law, Olivia Zambrano of Rockport, TX; her 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; and 6 great-great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Adolfo; her brother, Antonio Rodriguez; and her son, Joe Pepe Zambrano. A celebration of life will take place on February 6, 2017, at Chapel of the Chimes (Union City) at 5 p.m. in the main building. The funeral service will be on February 7, 2017, at Chapel of the Chimes at 10 a.m., followed immediately by the burial. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Elvira’s life.
