Elsie Marie Santos' Obituary
Elsie Marie Santos, 93 passed away at San Leandro Hospital in San Leandro, California on Wednesday, January 22, 2003. Elsie was born to Jens B. and Margaret Brandi in Oakland, California on June 27, 1909. Elsie has been a resident of Oakland all of her life. Elsie was a devoted a proud homemaker for 73 years. Elsie was devoted and dedicated as a wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing tennis in her younger days. She was an excellent cook and baker. She loved to watch figure skating and she especially enjoyed watching figure skating when her daughter competed as well. She was a proud woman because she helped her husband drive trucks and trailers for his fruit and produce business before many women started driving trucks.Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, Jens B. and Margaret Brandi. Her three sisters, Edith Robertson, Minnie Johnson and Florence Galli, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 73 years, John Santos on June 2, 2002. Elsie is survived by her loving daughter, Shirley M. and her husband, Ralph Biancalana of Fremont, California. Her precious granddaughter and her husband, Kerrie and Randy Hujar of Glastonbury, Connecticut, also survive her. Elsie was also survived by her three great-grandchildren, Tabitha, Allison and Colleen Hujar of Glastonbury, Connecticut. Family and Friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 from 5:30 p.m. ' 8:30 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home ' Mission Chapel.
