Eller Sunga's Obituary
It is with great sadness to Announce the passing of Eller Sunga who was born on January 5th, 1965. He passed away on July 24th, 2020.
Eller was born in the Philippines and immigrated to the US with family when he was 5. He lived and attended schools in Oakland. He worked full time right out of high school and once he had his own family, he moved to Hercules. Divorced, then remarried in 2007 and settled in Hayward.
He lived life to the fullest even with an incurable illness for the last 8 years. He loved making people laugh. He captured those moments with his camera posting them on Facebook. His real passion was bringing music to peoples' lives. He started right after high school Djing at family and social events. Over time he mastered the art of mixing songs. He knew how to get people to the dance floor and kept them dancing. On the side, he helped families and friends with repairs in their homes. He knew enough about plumbing, electrical, alarms, car repairs and minor construction work to lend a hand and/or advise. He even took up gardening in later years. He was never one to sit around, always had a project or two while devoting his time being a granddad.
He leaves behind his wife Janet, his 3 kids Brian (Lian), Irene and Jimmy, his stepchildren Lyshelle and Justin, his dad Simplicio, his 4 siblings Sally, Ed, Jao and Bena, and 5 grandchildren Sirena, DJ, Ela, Mikey and Persephone.
He will be greatly missed.
