Elizabeth "Sue" Lafferty's Obituary
Elizabeth “Sue” Lafferty passed away on Friday, October 13th, 2017 at the age of 79. The only child of Homer and Myrtle Williamson, Sue was born on January 15th, 1938 in Belfry, Kentucky and lived in Hayward, California for 64 years. Sue attended Cal State Hayward, and San Jose State University, and worked as a High School English teacher in Hayward Unified for more than 40 years where she was active in the Teachers’ Union. She was a member of Eastern Star and the National Association of Square Dancers. Her husband of 53 years, Herman Lafferty, and her daughter Teri Belden preceded her in death. Sue is survived by her loving children, Dale and Lisa Lafferty of Hayward, her daughter-in-law Debi Lafferty of San Lorenzo, grandchildren Danelle & Ben Fobert, Sean and Lori Lafferty, Megan and Jared Patterson, Ryan and Jamie Belden, Sammy and Sylvia Ferrill, and great grandchildren, Meilani, Elias, Sariah, Liam, Seth, Ammon and Ruby Fobert, and Abigail, Noah, Desiree, and Olivia Patterson. Visitation will be 5:00 pm, Sunday, October 22nd. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, October 23rd at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd. in Hayward.
