Eleanor Rodrigues' Obituary
Eleanor Rodrigues Dec. 1, 1921 – July 25, 2009 Resident of Fremont Eleanor passed away peacefully on July 25, 2009. She was born on December 1, 1921 in Aguadillo, Puerto Rico to Joseph Mendez (Cundo) and Felicita Ruiz. The family left Puerto Rico in 1930, settling in Decoto. After marrying Fernando Rodrigues in 1936, the couple moved to Oakland and eventually made their home in San Lorenzo where she stayed for 55 years. Eleanor loved music, singing, bowling, and spending time with her family and friends. Fernando and Eleanor were active members of the Puerto Rican Club for many years. She is survived by her son Leonard and his wife Judy, daughter Carmen, granddaughter Dawn and three great grandchildren. She was the eldest of a large family. Her surviving siblings are Secundina Rivera, Paulina Munoz and John Mendez. Eleanor is also survived by many loving relatives and friends.
