Eleanor Fields' Obituary
Eleanor E. Fields, 96, passed away peacefully at her nursing home on February 8th, 2021, six days before her 97th birthday.
Eleanor was born February 14th ( Valentine's Day), 1924, in Oakland, California. She graduated from Castlemont High School in Oakland. She was married to Harold Grass, who passed away unexpectedly in 1954. She later married Robert Fields, who passed away in 1977. She was a very loving, cheerful, generous human being who will be very much missed by her family and all who knew her.
Eleanor loved dance and she started dancing as a very young child. As a young adult she appeared in many different dancing performances, primarily Flamenco. Dance was her passion. In her 70's, she could still wow the young crowd with her salsa dancing. After the births of her children, she went to work as a retail clerk with several different companies. She was very successful in her work. It was through her job that she made some very dear friends and spent a great deal of time with them then and in the future.
Eleanor loved to go camping with family and friends and she did so often. She also loved to travel and went to many places around the world. One of her favorite countries was Scotland. She loved the bagpipes.
She will be missed by her family, including her daughter, Leila S. Strand; her son, Gregory C. Grass; her grandchildren Michelle Gregurich, Gregory D. Grass and Richard D. Strand. She leaves behind beloved great grandchildren Maureen, Owen, Michael, Bridget, Matthew, and Eva Gergurich; and her great granddaughter Luchiana Strand.
There will be no services at this time, because Eleanor loved animals, memorials may be directed to World Wildlife Federation or other animal protection/ conservation group.
