ELEANOR CHINN's Obituary
Eleanor “Elly” Chinn December 18, 1936 – March 1, 2018Eleanor Chinn, a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Harry Chinn, has passed away to begin a new and refreshing journey reunited with loved ones who have left this earth before her.Born in Hawaii on December 18, 1936, to Atanacio Acantilado and Dorothy Mendiola, Elly was raised on the North Shore of the island of Oahu. She is one of six children. In 1954, Elly came to the mainland to begin a new chapter of her life. With a zeal for the “joyous excitement” that is life, her natural beauty and energetic personality resonated. This is where she met Harry. They fell in love and married.Elly lived her life fully as a wonderful wife and mother with a successful Silicon Valley career, who always had energy to spare for others. As the years wound down she retired and became a loving caregiver to her husband. On March 1, 2018, Elly passed away. After years of struggle with COPD she grew tired and gave way to her last earthly breath. Lifted with a breath of fresh air, Elly has now joined those who have gone before, including her husband, Harry Chinn, and her sisters Conchita Agcaoili, Lucille Asahi and Priscilla Wandke.Elly will be missed, although never forgotten. She leaves behind her two daughters, Valerie Chinn and Jana J. Jacobson, along with her two younger sisters, Betty Mariano and Stephanie Aniu, and two generations of nieces and nephews. In keeping with Elly’s wishes there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust https://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/
