Eldin D. Jackson's Obituary
Eldin D. Jackson, born in Kansas January 14, 1922, died at his home in Castro Valley August 11, 2003, he was 81. He was one of 14 children. Nine surviving siblings. Resident of California since 1946 and Castro Valley since 1962. Served in WWII & Korean Wars as Navy Electronics Technician. Attended Hartnell College, Salinas and U.C. Berkeley in civil engineering. Retired from Pacific Bell as engineering Manager after 30 years service. Served as Vice President and President, as well as Board Member of Bay Area Retired Telephone Men's Club. Member of IEEE for 25 years, during which he served as chairman of S.F. Council. Life member of IEEE. Served on Board of Directors at Highland Place. He is survived by his loving wife and friend, Eleanor, of 57 years and daughter Joan Jackson of Rohnert Park, son David Jackson of San Leandro, two grandsons; Kevin & Timothy. Also, many brothers, sister, nephews and nieces, most in the Midwest. He enjoyed playing golf and bridge. He was a great help to his wife in her many singing engagements. At his request, services will be private. Donation may be made to the American Federation for the Blind or Shrine Children's Hospital in San Francisco.
