Elaine Nagel's Obituary
Elaine Nagel, 84, Fremont, CA resident passed away July 25, 2021
Elaine was born on July 2, 1937 in Chicago, IL to Samuel and Esther Appleby. She had a zest for life and loved her family and friends who always knew that her feisty and straightforward comments were indicative of how she embraced everyone she met.
Elaine was blessed with a loving husband, her high school sweetheart, Sheldon (Shelly) Nagel, who referred to her as, “The Magic Lady.” She was preceded in death by Shelly and is survived by her children, Philip Nagel and Toby Nagel, who were the loves of her life.
She worked at Ohlone College for over 30 years where she established and ran the flea market and community services programs. Additionally, Elaine was proud of her commitment to the greater community. She took much pride in volunteering in numerous organizations having served on the boards of Tri City Health Center and Planned Parenthood. Elaine also was on the Board of Directors of the “Committee for the Restoration of Mission San Jose” for over 10 years and was active in the MSJ Chamber of Commerce.
Elaine had a passion for theatre and was dedicated to either attending productions or participating in them locally.
Elaine will be sorely missed. May her memory be a blessing.
