Edward G. Spencer's Obituary
Celebrating The Life Of EDWARD GENE SPENCER Edward Spencer, better known as Ed was born December 21, 1954 in Goldsboro, North Carolina to the proud parents of James Ell and Luerene Spencer who both preceded him in death. He was the 5th child of eight siblings. He migrated to California in 1970. He attended special education, ARC and Valley Cap day program. He was unique and had a style of his own that never changed over the years. He loved listening to soul music, singing, eating soul food and was a fan of the 49ers. His favorite question was, what you doing? Even though he had no children of his own, he loved his nieces, nephews and cousins. If you had an opportunity to penetrate his outer layer, then you were able to take a glimpse at his inner compassion and love. He was employed through the ARC Program for 15 years, working at various warehouses. In spite of his disability if and when he wasn’t treated with respect, he had a way of using profanity to get your attention. He loved life, and the people in the community that knew him, shared that same love for life. Ed was preceded in death by one brother Stanly Bee Spencer and one sister Reatha Mae Spencer. Edward (Ed) Spencer leaves to cherish his memory five brothers; James Ell (Anjanette Spencer), Keller, TX; Robert (Thelma Spencer), Union City, CA; Donald Ray (Joyce Spencer), Richmond, VA; John Spencer, McMinnville, TN; William Hamilton ( Anita) Spencer, Fayetteville, NC and two sisters Mildred Ann Bass Atlanta, GA; Pamela Denise Spencer Union City, CA, and two generations of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family, friends and associates.
