Edward Scott Henry Sr's Obituary
It is with unbearable sadness we share that Edward Scott Henry Sr, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16th at the tender age of 70.
Born on June 4, 1954 in Bakersfield, CA to Isaac Henry and Phynolla Washington; Edward lived a life marked by devotion to his family, service to his country, and a passion for the simple joys in life. Edward spent his formative years in California, a state he remained deeply connected to throughout his life. After serving honorably in the US Navy, Edward established the City of Oakland as home where he will eventually get married and raise his family.
Edward was known for his kind spirit, his steadfast nature, his love for arts and entertainment, and his love of fishing. Whether casting a line in a serene lake or sharing his fishing tales, Edward found peace and happiness in this beloved pastime.
Edward leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience - his ex-wife, Sylvia Rackley of Atlanta, GA; their daughter Trinece Henry and their son Edward Henry II. A second ex –wife, Carol Ward- House of Oakland, CA and their daughter Marquita Henry; nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter. His sister, Mechelle Jones– Carlton of Oakland, CA; nephews Ray Taylor, Jessie Brown, Jared Taylor; nieces Dawn Manning, and Jessica Taylor, and a host of relatives and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his sister Shannon Henry- Taylor, Lesly Henry Jr, Jerome Henry, and Cedric Henry. Although he will be dearly missed, Edward will be fondly remembered. His spirit will forever be a part of the beautiful waters he so loved to fish.
Rest in peace, Edward. Your journey on earth may be complete however your legacy will endure.
