Eduardo “Eddie” Ochoa, 77 died Friday, August 18, 2017. At is his home in Fremont, Ca. He was born on June 7 , 1940 in Tondo, Manila, Philippines to Basilio and Carmen Ochoa. He is survived by wife Leonida, six children: Enrico, Eleonor, Edwin, Elizer, Exzeur, and Edison. Along with his in-laws: Leah Mae, Thom, Jocelyn, Bernadette, and Monica. Leaving behind fifteen grandchildren: EffieJane, Machelsea Carmen, Ezriel Robin, Rayneil Jae, Edriena, Janelle, Christopher Shawn, Edison Trey, Ethan Tyler, Edzel Brian, Edwin Jarret, Raymart Jae, Jade, Rizelle Bea, and Hope Madison. His living siblings are sisters: Dolores Rementilla and Anita De Pano, and brothers: Wedelfredo “Jing” and Benjamin Villareyes. He was predeceased by brothers: Armando and Rodrigo Ochoa, and granddaughter, Madison.Eduardo was a charming, outgoing person, and enjoyed bowling, swimming, and traveling. He spends most of his free time on his favorite couch munching on roasted peanuts while watching CNN, National Geographic, travel channel, TFC, and Pinoy TV. but nothing compares for his love of basketball. As a fan, he was dedicated and loyal to the Los Angeles Lakers. As a player, he was well decorated and his talents and skill sets were unimaginable. He was well-known in Mabini St, Dau for playing in different leagues and receiving multiple MVPs.In 1963, he graduated from the University of the East, Philippines with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He later worked as a General Manager for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, Motor Pool for 25 years. His dedication earned him numerous awards for his excellence and hard work.In 1991, He and his family migrated to the United States of America, to create a better life and find better opportunities for his children. He began to work night shifts as a security guard for Hacienda Garden Apartments for 15 years while fulfilling his responsibilities as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He then retired in 2005 to enjoy more time with his beloved grandchildren as they continued to multiply and grow right before his eyes. His world revolved around his grandchildren, doing anything and everything possible to see a smile on their faces. They were the most important treasures and wonderful part of his life.Unlike the typical title to grandfathers, he was called and best known as “DADDY”. He’s naturally a giving and helpful human-being. A wonderful person, loved and respected by many. Impacting the lives of not only his loved ones but everyone hes ever met. There’s no amount of words we can express on how much he means and deeply missed by his family, friends, and all that knew him . May he forever rest in peace and shine his eternal light guiding each and everyone one of us.
