Eduardo Munoz, the husband of Cynthia, the father of Cheryll and Michelle, the son of Pedro and Elvira, a friend of many, will remain in our hearts forever. He was born on October 28, 1960 and passed on September 11, 2022 in Santa Cruz, California at the age of 61. He grew up in the Philippines with his four siblings Imelda, Sonia, Jessamyn, and Junior in which they moved to America when he was about 12 years old.
On his quest to live his American dream, he proudly attended Lowell High School in San Francisco CA. Then for 34 years, he proudly worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Services where he delivered to 622 addresses for his daily route. During this time, he made many friends with the families that he delivered mail to and he was known as Eddie the mailman.
He was also a faithful member of (Iglesia Ni Cristo) The Church of Christ for 36 years. Through the help of the Genove family, he was able to attend bible studies, worship services, and therefore he was blessed to be baptized into the church. Until his very last day, he remained loyal and steadfast in his faith and to the teachings.
Great health and fitness was what he strived for every day. He was always the first one awake in his home, motivated to start the day with a swim, which he would always say was his best stress reliever. Then after a long day of delivering mail, he would continue on to go for a run or a bike ride. Running marathons and triathlons were a large part of his life. During his last few years, his greatest joy was to prepare and train for the Ironman Triathlon which consisted of swimming, biking, and running. It was 2019 when he made his first attempt at this triathlon but he was not able to complete the biking portion. Instead of feeling defeated, this gave him all the more motivation to achieve his goal of completing the triathlon. He took note of what he needed more training in, and he trained like no other. September 11, 2022 was his second time as an Ironman participant on the mission to complete the three long distance races. Unfortunately, he was not able to survive an accident that he experienced during this time. As sad as it may be, he died doing what he loved.
He was brave, unafraid of the most difficult of challenges, hard working, and generous. He loved so hard and so genuinely. He gave his wife and his two daughters everything they needed to succeed in life and more.
