In Memoriam Edgar Javellana Borbon Sr.
January 4, 1938 – February 28, 2022
Edgar Javellana Borbon Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed
away with peace and grace on Monday, the 28th of February at the age of 84.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 60 years—Pacita; his children—Edith, Edelé,
Edgar Jr., and Edwin; his grandchildren—Elise, Loren, Justin, Austin, Jordan, Jerrilyn, Hunter,
and Isabella, and his siblings—Divinia, Pablo Jr., and Cecilia.
Born in Iloilo, Philippines, Edgar was the son of Pablo Borbon and Alicia Javellana. He was an
Engineering graduate of Mapua University and furthered his studies and training in Germany at
Carl Duisburg Gesellschaft in Saabrucken and Mannesmann in Düsseldorf.
At Black & Decker, Edgar was the Regional Manager for Southeast Asia. He became the
Managing Director of the Philippines, and eventually the first President of Black & Decker
Philippines. In 1981, he immigrated with his family to the United States and settled in Alameda, California.
Known for his generosity, warmth of heart, and compassion for all, Edgar’s joyful presence will
be fondly remembered by family, friends, and many of those whose lives he has touched and
cared for.
