DWIGHT W. HILL's Obituary
DWIGHT W. HILL April 10, 1929 – November 25, 2014 Resident of FremontDwight was born to Yator and Eva (Ward) Hill, the third of four boys, on April 10, 1929 in Lexington, Oklahoma, and moved to California when he was six years old. He lived in Hayward until he left to join the military at the age of 17. After his return from the Army, he worked for several companies driving truck. In March, 1950, Dwight married the love of his life, Anna Jo Curtis, and they were together for 60 years until her passing. They resided in Hayward until 1956 when they purchased their current residence in Fremont. Dwight worked hard all of his life starting D. Hill Trucking in 1959 with 1 truck and gradually adding 19 more during his 46 years in the business. Even after selling the business, he continued to operate a truck for an additional year. He loved his family and his dog named D. Hill. He was a very generous man and helped many people throughout his life. The world has lost a good man. He will be dearly missed. Dwight is survived by two sons, Linden and his wife Donna of Hollister and Carlton and his wife Lori of Fremont, and two daughters, Sharon Wilson and her husband Bob of Red Bluff and Janice Hillyer of Fremont, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Donations may be given to Gentiva Hospice in Pleasanton or the Alzheimer’s Association. Visitation will be at the Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA, on Wednesday, December 3, from 4:30 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 4, at 10 a.m., at the Chapel of the Chimes, Mission Chapel with graveside services to follow. A reception will follow at the Veteran’s Hall, 37154 2nd Street, Niles District of Fremont.
