Sunrise: August 19, 1949. Sunset: January 21, 2026
Douglas Stephen Riner is survived by his loving wife, Cristine (nee Guiang), sister, Naiomi Houseman and nephews, Michael and Brian. He was born and raised in Oakland, California. Douglas was a member of his high school wrestling and football team and a die-hard Raiders fan. Upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he was the protestant lay leader on his ship. Upon retirement from 30 plus years in the food service industry, he spent his retirement years travelling with his wife Cristine, to several destinations in Europe and Asia. He was a “cruise” enthusiast and enjoyed living the high life on the open waters of the Caribbean, Mexico, and Hawaii. Douglas was a devout Christian member of Grace Community Church, in Visalia, California. He will most be remembered as a loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend; loyal to a fault to all those he loved.
